Employee Matching Gifts
Employee matching gifts (also known as matching funds) are grants an employer makes to match its employees’ charitable contributions. Usually associated with corporate grantmakers, employee matching gifts often are dollar-for-dollar, but some companies will give double or even triple the original donation. Some companies may also give matching gifts for employees’ volunteer efforts.
If your employer offers this benefit, your support to SPF could be doubled!
Contact your company’s human resources department and ask about a charitable matching program. Each program process varies, but it’s usually as simple as submitting a form.
Honorary or Memorial Gifts
Honorariums and memorial gifts are meant to celebrate an occasion or celebrate the life of a friend or relative.
When a gift is made to SPF in honor or in memory of someone, those funds are placed into our restricted land protection fund for specific farmland preservation projects. It is our way of recognizing the special intent of the gift and have it serve as a lasting legacy of the person or special occasion that is being commemorated.
If you decide to make a gift in honor or in memory of someone, simply note who your gift is for on the check or accompanying note to ensure that all parties can be acknowledged and thanked accordingly. If you plan on giving online, send a note with your instructions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In-kind donations are a great way to show your support for SPF through the donation of goods and services. Most in-kind donations are utilized during our events in the form of auction items, donated or discounted services, and of course, delicious local produce!
If your business or company has goods or services to donate to help offset some of our expenses, please contact the SPF office.
